VSY – protagonist of Italian excellence at the Monaco Yacht Show

VSY’s flagship– Stella Maris – the largest yacht in volume and length to be built in Viareggio over the last thirty years, has been undisputedly crowned queen of the Monte Carlo Yacht Show this year!
“The majesty of this 72-metre”, says VSY’s Managing Director Luciano Scaramuccia, “conceived in line with the Yard’s values based on avant-garde technology, superb craftsmanship and the best environmentally friendly Made in Italy, has captivated even the most demanding international public.” Such a resounding success formed just the right backdrop when, on Thursday 27th September, VSY organized an innovative workshop on board entitled “Mare Futuro”. Present were a number of international speakers concerned with sustainability and the workshop was a natural follow-up of the shipyard’s Declaration of Sustainability and their endorsement of the Wood Forever Pact with the Alberto II Foundation of Monaco in the presence of the Prince himself. VSY is the first European shipyard to sign this agreement subscribing to transparency and qualification in the timber industry to guarantee maximum quality and ethical respect. These are questions close to the heart of the owners of the yard in Viareggio who have taken up the challenge of new necessary models able to substantiate an innovative vision of the nautical sector and promote a re-launch of their fundamental values. Hence, VSY’s strong desire to open up discussions on the theory and practice of sustainability at the present time and fix a road map for this sector which can and must continue to represent important potential for the territory, for development and for the future.
