Cannes: Film Festival 2012, social whirl, culture and lots of sun. What better occasion for an exclusive party – and everyone knows the most talked-about parties are the ones held on board the mega yachts anchored off the Croisette.
So this year, VSY’s 62-metre motor yacht RoMa was protagonist at the 65th edition of the Festival, hosting a glamorous event on board with all the international jet-set, including the ubiquitous American heiress Paris Hilton. With her three decks, wide aft cockpits and pool with jet stream, RoMa stands apart with her timeless lines and the sober elegance of her internal furnishings all fused together with avant-garde technological systems and her many eco-sustainable solutions. Interestingly, one of these – Green Anchoring – happened to be important that very night for the success of the party. In fact, the dynamic positioning system was able to keep the craft steady in a prevailing 30-knot head-wind and allowed the guests to relax and enjoy an evening in the moonlight with glamour and style, cocktails and music, sipping the most trendy drinks of the moment to be found on the Cote Azure. The XB sponsored the event and chose to evoke the 1950s atmosphere in memory of the immortal star of this year’s Festival, Marilyn Monroe.
